POST-PRODUCTION

After the two day shoot wrapped in July,
the month of August consisted of
editing and special effects
including a complicated
model effect...

A day in the life of a special effect model...

Dan and Oli spend several weeks constructing two identical models
of the residential house (left), having taken digital photographs
of the live action house (right)

The model was constructed out of plasterboard and wood,
with a detachable door and net curtains.

Post-explosion -although not as much damage as initially expected
occurred, it did a good job of blowing out the windows and door.
From left: Dan Parkes, Mark Griffin (pyrotechnics),
Simon Clark and Chris Neilan.

A close up with door replaced.

To see uncut footage of the explosions and the final effect shot,
take a look at the in-depth documentary on the making of the film
entitled How to Make An Epic Short Film on a Student Budget,
one of the many extras on the official DVD available here on-line.
