We are very  pleased to announce that Parkes Productions latest feature film, Ambleton Delight is being prominently featured in the latest JVC Highway magazine!  Along with a front cover photograph from the kitchen shoot (featuring Jos Lawton and Kristina Anne Howell in action, being watched by the crew) there is a two page spread and article on the film on pages 12 and 13 inside, along with a selection of photographs.  The focus is of course on the JVC equipment we used -specifically the camera and monitor, but there is also information on the making of the film, and on our production company.  20,000 copies of the magazine are printed and are distributed through dealer channels, end users, companies around Europe, and are also inserted into the Televisual magazine.

You can view a PDF version of the magazine by visiting  this page  -but you need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view it (you most likely already have it).  There is also a form at the top of the page to enter your details to receive a hard copy.

Alternatively, you can download the full magazine PDF here or view images of the front cover and the two page spread by clicking on the relevant images below:

We can confirm that all scripts on the site -  the contact page, Talentbase and Quickquote forms - are now working correctly.  After changing servers, it was finally discovered that they were using old php based scripting that was not compatible with the new servers.  But things should be fine now!

There's been lots of work going on behind-the-scenes at Parkes Productions over the last few months and so we  are very pleased to announce the first Ambleton Delight film trailer is now available to view:

Some notes on the trailer:

1. It contains only 'raw footage' ie except for two FX shots (the Ambleton village signs) the footage has not been altered or colour corrected at all.  The audio is also 'raw' with only volume levels adjusted.  Of course, in the actual film itself the footage will be colour corrected and touched up as necessary. But even so the rich colour and sound is a testament to the hard work of the crew.

2. Since the actual film itself has not been edited, some of the takes and/or shots seen in this trailer will not be used in the final film.  Trailers are often a good opportunity to use material that otherwise would be on the cutting room floor.  Writing of which...

3. This trailer was edited in only one day (yesterday actually!), with assistance from Roger Marshall, and also many thanks to Iain Cameron's original piece of music entitled 'Cissbury 10th May'. For those interested in the technical side, it is in 1280x720 HD edited at 25p using Cineform Aspect HD in Adobe CS3 Premiere Pro.

4. If you have a chance, let me know what you think... especially if there are any corrections to be made please do let me know.

In regards to the remainder of the filming, as you may know we are now our final day of 10 days principle photography.  We aim to complete principle photography in early January and will be contacting those required individually to confirm the final arrangements .

Wishing you all a wonderful and relaxing break in whatever form that might be!

Local Brighton actor and celebrity Brian Capron is starring in a new feature film that showcases Sussex locations and talent. Entitled Ambleton Delight, the film is a joint production of Brighton based Parkes Productions Ltd  and  Ferguson  Pictures, with principal  photography  commencing  on  November  9th in Cooksbridge, near Lewes. The story revolves around a small fictional Sussex village by the name of Ambleton, during the apple harvest season, which is rocked by a government proposal for a nearby  motorway.  Filmed  exclusively  in  Sussex,  the  film  showcases  local  scenery  and  talent,  including Coronation Street star Brian Capron, in the role of the village mayor. Supported by the End of the Pier International Film Festival's Development Fund the film is due  to be premiered at the 2009 End of Pier event 24th April - 2nd May. This is the first full length feature the  Festival  is  actively  supporting  with the  aim  of  promoting  the  film  as  widely  as possible.

The film also stars Jos Lawton, Kristina Anne Howell, Ernest Worthing and Samantha Bolter.  An official website and teaser is expected to be launched by the end of the year.

We have been so busy that it has been almost a year since being able to properly update this website with the latest information etc!  But here it is, with some updates and changes made primarily to the home and services pages.  Most notably is the addition of flash films (the new showreel, example corporate and example wedding) which we will be refining as time permits.  We have in fact purchased a commercial licence to use the JW Media Player 4.0, so that we can use it whenever or wherever we like.

We have had the pleasure of filming a music video for London band MellowSun, lead by brothers Joe and Phil Gooch. Filmed entirely in Brighton it was shot at mostly 60fps to allow for slow motion filming -but also meaning the singing had to be at 240% speed.

It was also an opportunity to try out  a new piece of equipment -dolly and track, which we found most useful.
